Description: Botox® Cosmetic injection of forehead, including glabella, and crow’s feet; and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus injection of lips, perioral lines (creases around the mouth), and nasolabial creases (2 syringes).

Comments: This patient was aware that she was a candidate for laser resurfacing and a facelift, but wished to defer surgery and do what she could to maintain her appearance nonsurgically for a few more years. She wanted to do something relatively simple and with a short recovery time. She is seen 6 days after Botox® Cosmetic injection to treat her forehead wrinkles, glabellar frown lines, and crow’s feet. Simultaneously, Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus was used as a filler for her lips and smile creases. This is a common treatment combination – relaxation of the upper face and filler for the lower face. In the photographs taken with her eyebrows raised (bottom, right), she has slight overelevation of the lateral brows. This can be treated with a touchup Botox injection to “fine-tune” an exaggerated arch of the eyebrows, although this was not a concern for this particular patient.

Description: Injection of forehead and crow’s feet and Juvéderm™ injection of perioral lines (creases around the mouth).

Comments: This patient had deep wrinkles around the mouth. These were injected with one syringe of Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus. She had Botox®Cosmetic injection at the same visit. Photographs show her before and immediately after treatment. There is some redness from the Juvéderm™ injections. She is also shown one week later. The botulinum toxin is working (it takes 2-3 days to start working). Note the improvement in the wrinkles of the forehead and crow’s feet. She has a little residual bruising that may be hidden with makeup.
