Comments: This 20 year-old had a large birthmark involving most of the left cheek. Fortunately, the pigment cells were quite superficial, allowing removal by vaporization using the erbium laser. Her skin was healed in five days. The redness resolved in one month. She was instructed to use sunblock rigorously to prevent hyperpigmentation.
