Comments: This patient lost 150 pounds after a gastric bypass. These procedures were done in two stages, three weeks apart. She returned later for removal of additional loose skin of the inner thighs using a longitudinal incision along her inseam. She reported a huge improvement in self esteem.

K.K. (Age 37) - Nurse

Comments: This patient had lost about 70 pounds. A “lower body lift” was performed, using an incision that ran almost all the way around his trunk, elevating the buttocks, and removing the excess skin of the abdomen. Liposuction was performed simultaneously. Note the improvement of his love handles. The scar is still red at this point, but will fade to white in time. He has some skin markings from the binder he was wearing when these pictures were taken.

Comments: The patient had a gastric bypass 30 years previously. He lost about 200 pounds. He decided to do this after his wife had a tummy tuck. He had a gynecoid fat distribution and the expected mark skin laxity of the abdomen and thighs. He took two weeks off work. He was standing straight in four days. He said putting on clothing was much easier and he had no back pain. He said, “Everything is better now."
