Comments: This 28 year-old Pakistani-American physician presented with gynecomastia (male breast enlargement) and fatty excess of the trunk. On the day after surgery, a hematoma was drained from the left breast. The improvement under the chin is also evident in these photographs. He said that he thought his attractiveness, on a scale of 1 -10 had increased from a 2/10 (not a flattering self-assessment by any means) to a 7/10. He was so pleased with the result, he said he would recommend this surgery for his patients. Notably, he was motivated to lose about 30 pounds. A hypertrophic scar at the left inframammary drain site was later revised.

Comments: This patient was 6’4” tall and had a very large frame. He had scoliosis (which accounts for his right shoulder being higher than the left). He had undergone previous surgery elsewhere for his gynecomastia. This redo procedure was undertaken to treat persistent excess breast tissue. Skin contraction afterward was remarkably good, so that he did not need additional surgery which would leave more visible scars.

Comments: This 39 year-old was in excellent physical condition and very lean. His breast tissue was glandular, firm in consistency, and could not be removed with liposuction alone. His incisions have healed nicely and are almost invisible. He has no telltale signs of surgery.
