Lift Kansas, Breast Lift Kansas City, Breast Lift in Kansas A breast augmentation alone (i.e. just implants) will “take up the slack” to some degree in women who have mild sagging. However, if the sagging is more pronounced, a breast lift may be the solution. And no woman wants nipples that point to the floor. When is the sagging “more pronounced”? One indicator is the “pencil test” - When you can place a pencil in the crease and it does not fall to the floor. Have a look at some of the women with breast sagging in the Breast Augmentation section of this website to see the degree of improvement afforded by breast implants alone. If this is less than you require, a breast lift may be indicated for you. The drawback to this procedure is the scarring. It is necessary to make an incision all the way around the areola, another incision vertically down to the crease under the breast, and a third incision within this crease. These incisions are needed to remove the extra skin and tighten the breast skin envelope. Sometimes women desire a reduction in areolar size, so the incision around the areola is needed anyway. The resulting scars are hidden in even the most revealing clothing and patients find the trade-off - better breast shape vs. scars - acceptable. Women are very happy to be able to wear evening clothes and bathing suits without looking sloppy. They have a waistline again. They may even go without a bra. This procedure may be performed with a simultaneous augmentation if greater volume of fullness in the upper breasts is desired. |
